Although the flint exterior of this church is 14th- and 15th-century, including square-headed Decorated windows in the S aisle with unusual tracery, the two 13th-century E bays of the S arcade are the earliest part of the church, with their circular piers and octagonal abaci, and their double-chamfered arches. The S doorway is also of the 13th century, as is the chancel arch, which was widened in the 14th century. The chancel itself is of the 14th century with a fine double piscina. The nave was lengthened in the 14th century when the N arcade was built, including its taller square piers with demi-columns attached. During the 15th century, the tower was constructed with a higher stair-turret, the clerestory was added, and most of the present roofs were inserted. Of the internal items, special mention should be made of the carved Norman font; the mid-17th-century pulpit; the remnants of a 14th-century screen; a S chancel Norman shaft with 13th-century relief; bold symmetrical foliage design wall painting in two S arcade spandrels; some fragments of medieval glass in the E window, and the N and S aisles; and a N aisle c. 1580 brass.
