Period: 15th Century, 16th Century, 17th Century, 18th Century

Location: 2 miles E of Burwell off the A142/B1103

Constructed by Sir Walter and Joan Cotton c.1445, as a private chapel, this church is finely sited in fields beyond the house, amids a landscape that is partly formed of a formal avenue with temples, and partly by wilder parkland. Inside are assembled a number of attractive medieval fittings, but most notably a range of tombs and monuments to members of the Cotton family. The church is not easy to find, but it is most rewarding when found.
